IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR), in a consortium with GE Hitachi
Nuclear Energy (GEH), has been selected by Dominion Virginia Power
(NYSE: D) to provide project development services for its proposed
1,470-megawatt nuclear unit at its North Anna Power Station in Louisa
County, Va. Once Dominion Virginia Power receives federal permission to
proceed, which is expected in 2015, and decides whether to build the
unit, Fluor will perform the construction of the facility.
Project development activities are expected to continue throughout 2013
and beyond in preparation for release of a full engineering, procurement
and construction contract (EPC) for an Economic Simplified Boiling Water
Reactor (ESBWR) nuclear power plant. Fluor’s Greenville, S.C.,
operations center will lead the project development efforts.
