Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it is currently
performing early construction management services for Baxter
International Inc.’s new biotechnology facility near Covington, Georgia,
about 45 miles southeast of Atlanta. Mass excavation and earth works are
underway at the project site. Fluor previously booked its share of the
project value in the third quarter of 2012.

will help Baxter make this facility a reality to create therapies to
treat a number of chronic and acute conditions, including immune
deficiencies and critical care patients around the world,” said Steve
Dobbs, president of Fluor’s Industrial & Infrastructure Business Group.
Commercial production at Baxter’s new facility is scheduled to begin in
2018. The Covington site will have the flexibility and necessary
infrastructure to expand further to support additional global market
needs. Fluor’s Greenville, S.C. office will provide support to the
onsite construction management team. The construction labor workforce is
expected to total about 2,200 at construction peak.
