NTTA Selects Fluor Team as Best Value Proposal for SH 161 Extension in Dallas/Fort Worth Region

IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that Prairie Link Constructors, a Fluor-led joint venture, was selected by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) as the apparent best value proposal team for the State Highway 161 Tollway, Phase 4 project in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) region.

The design-build contract value is expected to be in the range of $415 million. Fluor will book the project into backlog when the contract is signed and NTTA has secured financing, which is expected to be before the end of 2009.

The SH 161 Tollway, Phase 4 project scope includes planned corridor improvements of two tolled, managed lanes in each direction from north of Interstate Highway 30 down to Interstate Highway 20 which is approximately 6.5 miles, as well as major multi-level interchanges at both interstates.

Prairie Link Constructors is a 60:40 percent joint venture led by Fluor with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc., and will include the services of a number of a number of firms including: AECOM (lead design), Halff Associates (drainage design), and PSI (independent quality assurance/control).
