Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it will donate
$100,000 to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts supervised by the American
Red Cross and United Way. This gift will be supplemented by
contributions from Fluor employees worldwide. The company will match
employee contributions at the rate of 50 cents to the dollar.
"The scale of devastation associated with this hurricane is almost too
overwhelming to comprehend," said Alan Boeckmann, chairman and chief
executive officer. "Fluor has had countless associations with
communities, people and businesses in the Gulf Coast region for more
than 60 years. We are saddened by the loss of life and extend our
condolences to those who have lost loved ones."
Fluor has also provided manpower to the Disaster Relief Network, an
entity formed by the World Economic Forum to manage the logistics
associated with delivering much needed material and medical supplies to
scenes of natural disasters.
