September 28, 2005

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced that its Zumbro River Constructors (ZRC) joint venture, which also includes Ames Construction and Edward Kraemer and Sons, has begun construction of the TH 212 design-build project in Minnesota.

TH 212 is a 12-mile highway realignment project located in Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minn. The project consists of seven new interchanges and 29 bridges and is scheduled to be completed in 2008. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and ZRC held a groundbreaking celebration last month signifying the start of construction on the project.

Fluor and its partners are the design-build contractors for this project, with Fluor also acting as the managing member of the joint venture. Total contract value is $238 million. Fluor booked its one-third portion of the total contract value in the company's second quarter.

"We are very pleased to continue our relationship with the Minnesota Department of Transportation," said Steve Dobbs, Fluor's group president of Industrial & Infrastructure. "We look forward to achieving the same success we've had on other projects with which we've partnered with Mn/DOT."
