Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) today announced that it has been selected
by Solvay Advanced Polymers L.L.C. to provide supplemental maintenance,
small capital construction and diversified plant services at the
company's specialty polymers facility in Augusta, Ga. The contract's
value, which was not disclosed, was booked in Fluor's third quarter.
"Fluor presented the best tools to improve our current maintenance
processes," said Alain Faessler, plant manager for Solvay Advanced
Polymers, Augusta.
"We are using Fluor's extensive knowledge base to help Solvay reduce
costs and improve their competitive position," said David Constable, a
president within Fluor's Global Services group. "We strive to help them
increase productivity, improve uptime, quality and safety, reduce costs
and better coordinate other aspects of their business."
The contract was executed out of Fluor's Greenville, S.C., office and
will be up for renewal in December 2006.
