conducted by the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT).
At the CURT National Conference held in Ariz., Fluor was presented with
the organization's 2002 Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award
(CISE). Fluor's safety management of Biogen Inc.'s large-scale
manufacturing facility, located in Research Triangle Park, N.C., was the
winner in the 500,000 to 2,000,000 safe work hours class. The
distinguished CISE award publicly acknowledges companies that create,
maintain and consistently exceed standards for safe work environments.
"The awards, given annually for more than a decade, seek to highlight
the achievement of companies that have created world-class construction
site safety programs and have shown a dedication to the concept of
promoting injury-free construction," said Ron G. Prichard of AON Risk
Consulting and chairman of the CISE Awards Committee.
