Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) today announced that its Operations and
Maintenance business unit has been awarded a contract to perform
maintenance and small capital construction services at a petrochemicals
facility in Deer Park, Texas.
The contract was awarded by BP Solvay Polyethylene North American and BP
Amoco Polymers Inc., and was booked in Fluor's second quarter 2002.
"This award marks the fifth BP facility that Fluor provides services at
in the Houston area," said David Constable, Fluor's president who is
responsible for Operations and Maintenance initiatives. "This provides
great advantages to BP and BP Solvay because resources and assets can be
optimized across multiple sites."
Work on this multi-year contract began last month and will be executed
out of Fluor's Houston office.
