New e-Market Will Focus on Horizontal Market Opportunities for e-Procurement
TradeMC today announced the executive team selected to lead the
company's work in comprehensive e-procurement solutions. Founded by IBM
(NYSE: IBM - news) and Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR - news) earlier this
year, TradeMC is a new, independent company building a superhorizontal
e-hub for the purchase of strategically sourced capital goods and
indirect supplies and services.
"TradeMC has put together a top notch management team with the
background proven to excel in these markets," said Mark Elliott, general
manager, IBM Global Services. ''The company is creating a strong value
proposition that captures the next evolution of e-markets."
The senior executives include:

president of Global Business Development Sales and Marketing for Fluor,
Hopkins was instrumental in finalizing the efforts between IBM and Fluor
to establish TradeMC. During his 14-year career with Fluor, Hopkins

led Fluor Daniel's largest operating area, Chemicals, Plastics and
Fibers Operating Company with revenues of $5 billion.

organization during his 14-year career at IBM. Most recently Kagan was
the executive responsible for new venture business at IBM Global
Services. Kagan joined IBM in 1987 from the accounting firm of
PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
James B. Poage, chief marketing officer. In this role, Poage will direct
TradeMC's global strategic marketing efforts. He was formerly senior
vice president of marketing for Sabre, the world's largest information
technology provider for the travel and transportation industry and the
parent company of Travelocity.com. Prior to that, Poage held senior
management and operations positions with Texas Instruments, Intel and

for IBM's general procurement and financial systems. He also served as
corporate vice president for ENSCO, a $70M business, providing solutions
in the area of systems integration, Web services, ERP consulting and

with A.T. Kearney Inc. as a vice president managing a broad range of
customer projects covering company imperatives such as operations
improvement, strategic sourcing, manufacturing efficiencies and the
creation of new service offerings.
"Since its formation earlier this year, the TradeMC value proposition
has struck a resonate cord with IBM and Fluor customers," said Fluor
Corporation's Philip J. Carroll, chairman and chief executive officer.
